FOR PATIENTS AND CAREGIVERS

Supporting you through radiation treatment

Oral mucositis can cause painful inflammation and sores in the mouth, making it difficult to eat, drink or swallow. Mureva is FDA authorized to lower the severity of radiation-induced oral mucositis and associated complications in eligible adults receiving radiation, with or without chemotherapy.
A QUICK OVERVIEW

Things you should know

WHO WE ARE

What is Mureva?

Mureva is the first FDA-authorized device for radiation-induced oral mucositis. It uses photobiomodulation, a light-based therapy, delivered through two soft mouthpieces. For eligible patients, it is designed to lower the severity of oral mucositis. Individual results may vary.

WHAT WE TREAT

What is oral mucositis?

Oral mucositis is a painful side effect of radiation that can cause sores in the mouth and throat, making it hard to eat, drink, swallow, and speak. Your care team may recommend oral care, rinses, and other support to manage it.

PATIENT REQUIREMENTS

Who may be eligible?

Mureva is intended for certain adults receiving head and neck radiation, with or without chemotherapy. Your radiation oncologist and care team will decide whether Mureva is right for you.

Former Cincinnati Bengals Tackle

Radiation is hard enough. Chemo is hard enough. If something like Mureva can take away one piece of the worst of it, the sores that could have stopped me from eating, from keeping my weight up, from staying in the fight, then you do it. You’d be crazy not to.”
