WHAT IS PHOTOBIOMODULATION?

Light-based therapy designed for supportive cancer care 

Photobiomodulation (PBM) uses non-ionizing light to deliver light energy to tissue. International supportive-care guidelines recommend daily intraoral PBM for eligible adults receiving head and neck radiation, but conventional delivery can require substantial staff time and manual point-by-point treatment. Mureva is designed to make PBM practical and repeatable in routine care.

THE MUREVA SYSTEM

One system. Two purpose-designed mouthpieces.

The patient receives Mureva before each scheduled radiation treatment. The over-tongue mouthpiece is used for five minutes, followed by the under-tongue mouthpiece for five minutes, completing the 10-minute treatment under trained supervision. The patient then proceeds to radiation with no change to radiation delivery.

WHAT TREATMENT INVOLVES

The daily workflow

The patient receives Mureva before each scheduled radiation treatment. The over-tongue and under-tongue mouthpieces are used in sequence to complete the 10-minute treatment under trained supervision. The patient then proceeds to radiation with no change to radiation delivery.
